Freelance!
Had the absolute pleasure in doing Miss Ailie's makeup for her wedding day for herself and her stunning bridal party. Clearly, she only hangs out with models... ;)
Products used for the day for Ailie were:
Face & Body Foundation
Moisture Cover concealer
Mineralise powder
Peaches blush
Eyeshadows: Tete a Tint, Texture, Embark and Naked pigment (also used for facial highlight)
Fluidline Blacktrack
False Lash mascara
Fling brow pencil
And shygirl on the lips.
The bridesmaids used the same products, but I adjusted the style according to their own and the features.
Face & Body Foundation and some Sculpt.
Moisture Cover concealer
Careblend powder
Blushbaby blush
Eyeshadows: Vanilla, Naked Lunch, Haux, Emabrk
Blacktrack
Opulash mascara
Syrup lipstick
Naked pigment as highlight
Spiked, lingering and fling brow pencils.

missed this shit.
Wow, this has been crazy! Since leaving our wee little flat in London in October last year it has been go go go. FINALLY we are in our own place in Melbourne! Internet connected yesterday and I can finally get back into what I love most- researching and expressing my passion for beauty, fashion and art.
So! Apologies for the delay and let this be the last time I break from blogging!
So, if you have been wandering what I have been up to in my little makeup world- check my tumblr page out.. I post all my own looks from counter and also some of my freelance work.
Enjoy xx

You have me.
This travel thing has me, i tells ya. I dont want to leave. But I do. I want to move onto the next amazing discovery.
Im a gypsy, havnt I told you? Since I was little, I have never lived in the one spot for longer than 2 years. I have moved so much, its past 50 and i lost count ages ago. Its in my blood... if i stay anywhere for too long i feel unsettled..as if my life has become stagnant like water in a puddle and i have nowhere to go..and nothing to do.

So you can only imagine, since leaving our little corner of Camden, London all those weeks ago, how much I have loved this little trip. Its not just the people watching, the consumption of worldly delights or the ability to stop and stare; just cos I can and cos we have nowhere to be.. its the smells, the comparisons and the feeling you get when you know you have never been in that spot, and most likely will never be again.
But there are paths, we have discovered over the past few weeks which we want to walk along again.. Italy has definately captured my heart; the traditions, the love, the history and the passion it has for itself and its people.

The South of France was interesting.. after falling head over heels for the northern countryside and Paris, I was shocked to realise I didnt care for the Souths uninspiring landscapes, its pretentiousness and those who fancied knocking me over with their stunning Celine bag.
Since arriving only yesterday in Madrid, I see the excitement and the electricity. I can smell the chorizo and sangria and I can hear the music and the young kids laughing. Here for the next few days, we are then off to lay our heads on the Southern Spain beaches of Marbella for a week.. to let the world stop. And then we are off again for one last week and then we shall discover soon enough.. we will be back on Australian soils and very excited for the summer ahead with friends and family!
Observations...
Italian women have this weird obsession with wearing shorts, dresses and shirts with calf high boots. no tights. Sometimes it looks ok, but mostly.. just odd.
The best people you meet are the ones who you fear or are wary of. They are the characters, they have the stories.
Australian backpackers rule this earth. I kid you not- if i see one more sheila or bloke I will throw my hands in the air and walk away! Not offence, but Im not here to see you!
I love books. I cant even tell you the pain I go through with reading. Its my obsession and one that infuriates me. No reason except I read so god damn fast I finish a book the size of beyonces toosh in 2 days. I have read two of the most amazing novels in the past week.. up there with my favs of all time! Shantaram by Gregory Roberts had me up til all hours in Venice. Ben could of killed me! But a novel that had me weeping like a little girl on the train from Nice to Marsielle was Just Kids by Patti Smith. I havnt read anything so beautiful is such a long time. This woman knows the written word. She filled my eyes and heart with her beautiful memoir and it has changed me forever.

Oh and yes, you cant keep me away from makeup forever.. i jumped into mac today to see the MAC Me Over collection.. ah how amazing are the tranformations!! the older caucasion lady had me! Beautiful! I loved the matte Winey plum lipstick and this beautiful lip coloured pink gloss.. I shall have to visit MAC at the Heathrow terminal for one last UK purchase methinks ;)

Well dears, I leave you to go to rest my weary head. I would be going out tonight.. as it is a saturday here in madrid, but alas a japanese monkey called yoshi, a stranger who intrigued me beyond words, kept me up last night in the hostel.

That story, another time.

So long...Farewell...
After close to 2 years, I have sadly packed my bag. Ok, i lie. I have packed many a bag. Ok, look- i could be really lying... My boyfriend has packed my many a box and all my suitcases and we are now living out of ONE suitcase and travelling through Europe, on our way back home to oz.
Very excited to be heading back to the sun and surf and to my friends and family! Also, cant wait to get my freelance going and start working hard to build my career in my favourite city in the world.
But until then, I am testing out as many other cities as possbile! And at this present time we are in Florence, Italy! Um.. so firstly- WOW. Secondly, all this travelling means my blogging will slow down a wee bit for the next month or so, until Im back into the swing of things. Dont worry though- Ill be popping on to share some photos, any makeup and styling experiences I have etc.
Oh, that reminds me- now that Im out of the Uk, I headed straight for a Sephora shop. Makeup Up Forever- You complete me! Check out the HD Makeup my friends...wowzers.
Now, cant be on here for long.. I onyl snuck on to book a car to drive around Tuscany tomorrow..woops!
Ciao! x

Countdown On!
With my notcie handed in and our plans on heading back to Melbourne after a little stint of travelling, Ben and I have concluded that we have done so little of the things that most tourists do when they come to London for a short while..
One of the things on our list that has yet been checked is a wee bike ride around this pretty city in the summers shine.
Unfortunately my baby was working, but my other hosuemaes were already up for it, so off we went! Such a lovely day.. though was a tad sore the next day!

Thnaks to my lovely housie Amber Jean for the foto flog, see more of them and her cool posts on London life and all things peachy @ http://www.peachheartdarlings.blogspot.com/

Whoops.. should explain!
Apologies, I believe in my excitement to be back on the ol' blog, I forgot to mention why I havent done so for the past few weeks!
After the past few months being so full on with work, both with MAC and in freelance; with moving flats and just generally with everything, I was so excited to finally get away with my boy and have some time absorbing Eastern Europe and having a blast in Serbia at the Exit music festival!
We joined Bens mate Rich and set off for Budapest, Hungary; Novi Sad, Serbia; Montenegro (my fav) and then onto Croatia! Had the best time and between all night up dancing to some incredible live music acts such as Portishead, Arcade Fire and Deadmau5, I got a few much needed hours in the crystal turquoise water and in the sun.

Budapest

Train from Hungary to Serbia
Portishead @ Exit!
Rafting in Northern Montenegro
Roger Sanchez in Kotor
Dubrovnick
Island hopping around Korcula

Good Move
Having now lived in North, South and Central West London, Ben and I have decided to spice up our lives and have moved to Camden.
Like most cities, London has little demographic niches all over the city. I loved East Dulwich for its village-y feel and how close it was to the arty areas inhabited by all the art students of the Art college; North London was very residential, but quaint and had a boutique feel and St Johns Wood was amazing for its clean, safe and beautifully treelined streets. But all of the above lacked the few things Ive craved since coming here..art, culture.and an amazing vibe.
Though, ideally I would of loved to have lived in east London it just was a tad too far for work for both of us and was quite expensive.. so camden was naturally the next spot! Ignoring the streeets teeming with spanish tourists, step away from the main drag you will find such amazing pockets of local oomph. A surprise around every corner...
I am very much looking forward to the summer and the adventures to be had, here on my doorstep.

A Right Royal Riot
With a 'Once in a lifetime' event happening 1km from my front door step- I had to get as close to the action as possible! Well, ok..maybe not out the front of the Abbey..but at Hyde Park where all the real action was happening! With a 120,000+ crowd, 600,000+ Union Jack flags and uncountable Kate and Wills face masks I enjoyed it all with a cider in hand on a nice patch of grass.
The grass wasnt so nice after all the cider had been consumed and the Pimms ordered, but the crowd was amazingly happy and festive.
Proud as punch to have been there to experience such an event! And I wasnt far off in the predictions on Kates dress too! The lace was superb, the makeup applied by The Duchess of Cambridge herself (thats what the public were told..but us MUAs arent convinced..) and the day a success.
Heres to a long and prosperous reign! X

My Precious Things
With rain drizzling down outside on a miserable grey London day, Im on the couch. Wrapped in my favourite big red blanket, with 2 finished toilet rolls next to me and a bin full of tissues I have been thinking.
With the help of my ever loyal Tori Amos, who is always with me on days like this, as usual Im deep in thought. These thoughts are my own but present in everyones lives and I wanted to share them. Even if one person reads this and gets it, brilliant. If not, *shrugs* C'est la vie.
My life is a big old school rig of a car. Its had a few breakdowns, seen many a passenger; people who've taken it and had some fun cutting burnouts in the back paddock or sneaking to maccas at midnight for a dirty big mac; there have been people who didnt see the beauty in the rid and have discarded it like junk and people who always go for a ride in it but only use it to get from A to B... but there have been those who saw the potential and given it some good old love and care and to them, its turned the old rig into a collectors item. And its not only the drivers.. sometimes the car goes on autopilot and kept putting itself into reverse.
But away from the metaphor, today I have chosen to discard the people and situations in my life that hold me back. A friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out. A person who sees the beauty in you when noone else does. The kind of friend who understands you and never asks why. A friend to me is someone who never judges, lacks love or is selfish. A friend to me is present. I am present and I will chose to keep the beautiful 1963 EH Holden Wagon in 5th gear... if itll go that fast ;)
As Tori says in the above song..
So I ran faster
But you caught me here
Yes my loyalties turned
Like my ankleIn the seventh grade
Running after Billy
Running after the rain
These precious things
Let them bleed
Let them wash away
These precious things let them break their hold over me
I walk forward with life and after todays grey skies turn to black; I hope that tomorrows are blue and full of sunshine. And as I write this I heard birds chirping, so I look up and a bit of sun shining strongly through the clouds. A good sign? Of course.

JEAN GENIE
A few months ago I worked with Hannah Newman, a London based stylist/fashion journalist.. Hannah's very own blog was shortlisted last year by Cosmo Mag for the 2010 Blog Awards. So it was very exciting when she paired up with photographer Alexander Jordan to create an amazing piece on her love for Denim.
I kept the makeup extremely clean and raw; a look very much coveted by the fashion scene. Hair was kept off the face and in a quirky way, again very raw and "unkept".
After alls completed, Hannah's end result is a really great read. See below!

My first English winter..
Unprepared, as usual, Im becoming frightened. I have yet to experience an English winter and by all advice- I should be very very scared. Already, as Autumn ends its getting dark by 5pm and rarely the sun is out for longer than an hour or two. Nievely Australian, I walk outside to the shops in flip flops and a top with a flimsy scarf to sheild me from what I believe, is a chilly air. I then step outside...WHAM!
Oh dear lord...
I am now beginning to get it. These crazy kids over here dont wear Ugg boots to work for no reason. Its cold god dammit. So happy am I to know that Uggs can be replaced in the workplace by a far more fashionable weather protectors. Lamb Shearling in a fashionable adaptation. Whether it comes in the form of an aviator jacket or shearling lined boots.. the availability of warmer clothes and shoes are finally in stores.
Not that I could afford any of the collection, but Burberry's inspires me daily. And thank god High St stores have caught on and have a plethora of Burberry inspired pieces. So, though I should have purchased these items months ago, off I trundle to get me hooked up.
Post Script: I heart Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. So much.
